Good Morning
I start you off with this thought.. “the will to win is important, but the will to prepare is vital.”
We have Mr Fayez entered to run on Tuesday at Brighton. He has come forward from his first run and we hope for a good run. Josephine Gordon rides him and she has done loads of work on him and the pair get on well. He shows more at home than he has shown at the races to date and it’s exciting to have our second runner in the UK. If he pulls up well, he may even back up on Saturday at Lingfield, but I’ll monitor the situation all week first.
GoRacingGreen (Debbie) who does a wonderful job caring for people in racing and animals of all sorts, kindly gave us a kitten named Barney, who is already Twitter famous. We took the drive across England to fetch him yesterday and brought him home where he is being loved and cared for and is now the new boss of the house.
Baeed, wow, isn’t he something special. Besides being beautifully bred, a incredible champion racehorse who hadn’t run until June last year and then won 7 straight including a Gr1, has the most unbelievable race day temperament and relaxes and turns it on where it matters and stormed home to win a Gr1 first up this year. You couldn’t be more excited about any others horse. What a champion! I can’t wait to see him at Royal Ascot and then hopefully in the Juddmonte. The Haggas team have prepped him so perfectly and Jim Crowley rode him so cool and confidently, honestly great to watch.
The Derby and Oaks Trials are done. The Derby trial winners have all been impressive and I’m not convinced of a winner yet so will hold back on my selection at this stage. In the Oaks, I can’t see anything beating Emily Upjohn, she looks a true champion filly in the making.
There is a National Hunt sale coming up on 26 May at Tattersalls in Newmarket and as I’m dual purpose licensed, we will be attending and looking for more stock. We need your support and need more horses, so contact us and join us.
And to end… those who teach us most about humanity, aren’t always humans!
Until next week, stay in touch and updated following our social media.
