Good Morning
To start this Monday, a little Albert Einstein; life is like riding a bicycle, to keep your balance you must keep moving…
The King George was an interesting race and it was awesome to see Pyledriver win so well. He is a classy animal and has now won 2 of the most prestigious Gr1 races in England over a mile and a half. It’s such a great story and this is what racing is about. It was refreshing to see a smaller yard win such a big race and the fans were all just as pleased on social media. It was also great to see Sir Busker winning for another small yard at York. He has done really well and every yard needs that flag bearer, especially the smaller ones. Racing and the powers that be, hopefully noted this. It’s in this area where there is room to grow and increase field sizes.
Glorious Goodwood this week presents racing fans with one of the best weeks of the year in British Racing. There are so many exciting races and horses to look forward to seeing and I hope a little shower blesses the turf down there for all the runners. Everyone wants to see the Strad bow out with a win and of course we all look forward to Baeed in the Sussex Stakes. It always pays to follow Hannon/Johnson during this week, so keep a look out for their runners as well.
We took some horses to gallop at Chelmsford City Racecourse yesterday as the rain has decided to persistently stay away and we needed to get a gallop into them. All 3 galloped pleasingly and will hopefully run next week. It’s always nice to give them an away down but also nothing like the grass to bring them on, so rain dancing I am!
Mr Fayez runs tomorrow at Yarmouth in the 1:40. He was going to have a rest after his last run but the lads called me after day 2 of his rest and said let’s get him in for one more run as he came out of that race so well and was bouncing. I am hoping for a good run. He needs a little summer break so this will be the last run for this spell and then he’ll come out later in the year. He has done us so proud running every 10 days or so for 3 months and has allowed me to give all the others the time that they have needed.
We continue to work hard and try and muster up some support in the UK. As I’ve said before, we have built up a great little team and we need more horses to support our yard. Please get in touch with us.
I leave you with this thought for the week; luck is what you have leftover after you give 100%…
