Good Morning

As always to start a little motivation, especially in a world where people can be really nasty, mostly behind some social media wall; Dirty water doesn’t stop plants from growing, so don’t let negative words stop your progress.

We had our soldier Mr Fayez run another game 5th beaten a length. He is our only horse racing and has earned prize money 5 times out of 6 runs so far. We couldn’t be prouder of him and he pulled up so well again. It was another really good ride from Josephine Gordon who gets on so well with him and the team Adam and Kanane did such a fantastic job keeping him calm and turning him out immaculately again. As I’ve said before, he isn’t the easiest character in the world to deal with and we just all work really hard and well together with him, keeping it all going. #teamworkmakesthedreamwork!

Urban Equestrian is a charity doing some good work and cause for children in the Leicestershire area and we had the privilege of meeting them and their founder, Freedom, on the weekend. Leicester Racecourse kindly sponsored entrance tickets for them and they all thoroughly enjoyed the day out racing. Most of these children love horses and Freedom is doing a great job teaching them to ride and be around horses and looking after them and showing them that racing can be a career path for them and that there is opportunities and inclusiveness. It’s been great dealing with them and I hope to continue helping them where I can and being involved helping any good organizations out and bringing people racing and to our yard to see these amazing horses that we have the privilege of working with. It’s growing beyond Leicestershire and the aim is to connect Inner City Communities to the Equestrian World. Racing can do more to be more inclusive but that’s for another day and blog down the line.

Royal Ascot is this week and Newmarket has been buzzing with press and visiting horses from different countries. Late September, an American, is one giant two year old I keep coming across and will be interested to see how he does. I am excited for Alice Haynes who has really started off well as a trainer and wish her all the best with her two year old runners and hope she can do well against the biggest trainers in the world. Baeed runs in the Queen Anne which is the first race of the festival and I always find it the best race of the week for me and I’m so excited to see Baeed again and hope he wins like Frankel did in the same race. This year, the Kings Stand looks a great race and will it be the Americans or Australians? Maybe the Irish or British will come from off the pace and snatch it late, but personally I think the Australians will win the sprint, maybe twice in the same week. Coroebus in The St James Palace Stakes also looks a highlight and that’s just a teaser of what’s to come this week. There is so much more to look forward to especially from the fillies. I hope for a bit of rain to keep it fair and safe for everyone during the week. Whoever is going, I’m envious and jealous, but I’ll be at yard putting the hard graft in for the future.

Next week I may go into the talk of reducing the program by 300 races and the leadership of British racing from my personal point of view, having experienced racing in a similar situation in SA, but I need to put some effort and thought into it so will need the week or maybe two in preparation. For now, I say be careful what you wish for, sit on your hands a bit and think this through properly.

We are giving our UK move and yard our all and everything and really need support. We only have Mr Fayez running and need more horses to support him. We will be attending the Tattersalls July Sales and want to stock up and keep growing the yard. Your support is needed and will be much appreciated. Get in touch and contact us now and join our up coming, fun, open, transparent and already Gr1 proven winning yard.

To close today, I leave you with this; Someone is out there holding there breath waiting for you to fail… Make sure they suffocate!

Until next week, stay updated daily following our social media.
