Good Monday Morning
A warm start to Monday, I’m hoping we are onwards and upwards into the spring. Here’s a thought to get the week kickstarted; “Every success story is a tale of constant adaptation, revision and change.”
I have to gloat about another international winner trained at HQ over the past weekend. Dubai Honour bolted up in Australia for Ryan Moore and William Haggas. It just shows the quality of the horses in Newmarket and the fantastic facilities we train your horses on. Ryan Moore then doubled up winning the Golden Slipper which is the premier 2 year old race down under.
This weekend coming up is the Dubai World Cup Racemeeting, so be sure to watch that. It’s always a really good night of racing with lots of classy horses running for huge sums of money.
Last week I had the privilege of heading down to Cheltenham courtesy of some wonderful clients we have but mainly a huge thank you to Richard Walsh. We had a really good time and enjoyed the racing immensely. Cheltenham was well run, the que’s were minimal and access around the track was easy. I managed to get a great viewing spot for all the races and honestly had a fantastic time. Seeing Constitution Hill and Honeysuckle on the same day was an obvious highlight, but there were so many more. I highly recommend a trip to Cheltenham if you can. Besides the racing, it’s a stunning part of the world to visit.
We are less than 2 weeks away from our first runners since January where we had 3 runs who finished 3-4-2 so we are hoping to continue this year with the horses running well. It’s a stressful time hoping it all goes well into the spring now as the workload really increases, but exciting as well. At this stage we could have Mr Fayez, Faro De San Juan, Expressionless and Gold Medal ready to step out. The team has been putting in a lot of hard work behind the scenes.
It’s our famous assistant trainer “Barney’s” birthday today. He is one years old today and besides being a fantastic assistant trainer and owners recruiter, he’s been a loving and wonderful cat. He’s been a great story on his own and we all love Barney aka Barnaboo. He will be spoilt today as he is every day but a few extra treats. Happy Birthday Barney and thank you Debbie (GoRacingGreen) who raised him and gave him a chance at life.
Arsenal continue to gallop relentlessly out in front of the Premier League like Persian Punch did in the Jockey Club Stakes a few years ago. I really hope we can keep it going and hold on to win the league.
A reminder to join us for our Open Day 16 April 10am-2pm. We look forward to hosting you.
Our team is hard at work going through all the sales catalogues and will be at the Tattersalls Ascot Sale tomorrow. Get in touch and join the yard.
As usual, there is loads of work, planning, networking going on behind the scenes to keep growing the yard and to also get the best out of the horses we have this year. We have space for more horses and owners and have built up a really good team of people around us.
A thought to send you into the week with;“Everything you need to be great, is already inside you!”
