Monday
Welcome to Dylan Cunha Racing’s first blog and this will now become a weekly feature on our website, EVERY Monday, personally written by yours truly, Dylan Cunha.
The plan is to add a breeding based blog/vlog from @pedigree_to_win every Friday for a weekend based breeding tip for 1 race a weekend, but, although hosted on our site, A TOTALLY INDEPENDENT VIEW and just a bit of fun for our followers and a thinking out of the box view or thought.
Well, let me start by saying, I am officially a British Horse Racing Authority registered Racehorse Trainer based in Newmarket, UK. The BHA licensing process is thorough and even though I was a Gr1 winning trainer in South Africa, the hurdles were still there for me to jump and I can proudly say that the BHA and British Racing School really do a good job preparing a trainer for what lies ahead. The courses were amazing and the standard world class from the BRS and the BHA licensing staff were extremely knowledgeable and helpful throughout the process.
For those who are new to our site or new followers, a quick introduction, I am a Group 1 winning trainer from South Africa, a previous Airline Pilot, Auctioneer and Ultra Marathon Runner. I moved to the UK in 2020 when Covid wiped out the airline industry and whilst trying to get a good auctioneering job, got brave enough to decide to train again, in the worlds greatest training facility, magnificently maintained by the Jockey Club in Newmarket. I worked for Robert Armstrong and Barry Hills in the UK many years ago, as well as for the South African Champion Trainer Justin Snaith as well as rode 3 Amateur winners, before training on my own and winning at the highest level over every distance and I feel with many more years of life experience in the disciplined airline pilot environment and personally training myself for Ultra Marathons, I have all the knowledge and skill to be successful in the UK if I get the support of owners to purchase the horses, every trainer needs. I am hands on and getting the basics right and extreme attention to detail sums me up well!
A little look at our website and social media and you’ll soon see, we love our horses and take this job seriously and our focus is to win at the highest level and make racing fun for everyone involved.
Our first runner should be a horse called Mr Fayez who we bought cheaply at the Tattersalls Horses In Training sale in September last year. Look out for him, he should run in the last week of March or first week of April but I will be updating on all the platforms as well. Josephine Gordon will hopefully ride him as she has done a bit of work on him and she is a really good rider who also needs some support having been champion apprentice a few years ago.
We are busy going through the Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up Catalogue and will hopefully be buying a few more and it will be great if you join us. We are creating a racing club, syndicate and doing whole purchases, so please contact me and let’s buy that next champion!
That’s it for week 1 and the first blog, join us for more next week and follow our social media and YouTube channel… have a good week.
