As we start a new week and another Monday, a reminder that today is your opportunity to build the tomorrow you want….

The Grand National was some spectacle and fairy tale on Saturday and I’m sure you all, as we did, shouted Sam Waley-Cohen home in what was his last ride, once your fancy or bet was beaten. It was certainly an emotional National and in the words of ITV’s Ed Chamberlaine - “A Unique National Treasure!”

Our babies had a look at the Al Bahathri for the first time this past Saturday and I was really happy with them, surprising me how well they handled it all without a lead horse. Lots to look forward to even though we are severely short of bullets to fire!

Our first runner is on track for the end of the month and we will update you accordingly on social media and our blog, but the hard work continues and our amazing horses and small team are giving it our all.

This week we welcome the crowds back to Newmarket for the Craven Race Meeting and the Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up Sales. It’s always amazing to see the high quality horses that grace the turf on our doorstep and I’m sure whoever the first 3 are in the Craven will hold their own throughout the season in the Guineas and Derby and so on. There are a load of other strong and exciting races and trials such as the Lanwades Nell Gwynn Stakes and we are in for a treat at HQ this week.

The Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up Sale, also begins today with all the lots breezing once up the Watered Gallop at 9:30am and then on Tuesday and Wednesday they head into the sales ring before racing begins. We are obviously attending and hoping to stock up and find that next champion such as Native Trail who came off this sale last year only to go on and win the Gr1 Dewhurst. We have set up in Newmarket and really need support going forward, so contact us now and join us at the sales or send us horses to train.. we have space!

This brings me to my closing quote which is quite relevant having relocated to Newmarket from South Africa; “If you’re not worried or nervous about something you’ve worked hard on, there’s something wrong with you. It’s a privilege to do something that makes you feel that way. If you’re attempting to do something that scares the hell out of you, that means you’re trying to do something with your life.” - Boyd Martin, Olympic Eventer on being fearless.

Have a good week, see you at the sales and stay updated following our social media.
