Last week we had two runners who ran well. Mighty Mind unfortunately didn’t have things go his way at Lingfield on Tuesday and was too keen, however he finished a good 6th still earning prize money and came back sound. He is a big soft horse who needs everything to fall into place and will be back. Follow him.

Expressionless ran a really good race at HQ in a really strong Novice. Newmarket is known for deep Novices and this was certainly one race I would follow the form line. He ran on from last to finish fourth and he is certainly going places in the future. That was a superb experience for him running between horses and he came out the race bouncing. He will hopefully win next time and then have a break and come back as a decent three year old next year. Considering he only cost £5k as a yearling for us, he really held his own against some of the biggest names in world racing and has done us proud.

It’s quiet this week with no runners, as we re plan the horses next races. We only have a handful of horses that can race and that is the reason we are pushing so hard for more and building up aggressively.

We also have empty stables for horses in training and we will also be looking at getting a jumper or two for the winter as we have a dual license.

This weekend is one of my favourite races, the Prix De Le Arc de Triomphe and it’s holding up to be one of the great races as it always does. Luxembourg look interesting to me if he comes forward again and I think this years Arc could be heading back to Coolmore again after a quiet few years in the Arc. It’s amazing for me personally, as I went to the Guineas meeting in Newmarket and had a good look at Luxembourg in the pre parade paddock and to see him mature throughout his three year old career is something magical to see.

It’s breaking in the babies time of the year and teaching them the way forward for the future. It’s always an exciting time in the yard. For owners it’s a great time to get involved and be part of the process from the beginning watching their horse start from the beginning and developing all the way through..

To close today; “Don’t carry your mistakes around with you. Instead place them under your feet and use them as stepping stones to ride above them!”

Until next week, stay updated daily following our social media.
