Blog Twenty-Nine - Monday 19/09/22
Good Monday Morning
I start todays blog with a lovely quote from Martin Luther King.. “if you can’t fly, run. If you can’t run2, walk. If you can’t walk, crawl, but, whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward!”
We had a wonderful Sunday at our yard hosting our first “open day” in the UK on the prestigious Henry Cecil Open Day. Our team worked hard to welcome everyone with a Sherry to warm them up and a sausage to keep their sugar levels up.. the team was also on hand to show them around and a lot of fun was had by all with some great positive feedback. On the day our racing syndicate Catch Us If You Can Racing had also set up a lovely stand, brightening up the yard and our Racing Manager Andrew O’Connor and his fiancé Lauren did a fine job introducing new owners to the yard and racehorse ownership. We sent four horses over to Warren Hill to canter in the morning for the public which was well received and they all looked so good and moved so well. We are very happy with that. The British Racing Public and Fans came in their droves and supported us and looked around and we are so thankful to them. It was a pleasure having you all around and we look forward to next year already. Thank You all so much!
We have two exciting runners this week. Mighty Mind runs on Tuesday at Lingfield and he has been doing really well at home and we hope for another good run from him. He is up in class so will have to come forward but we are happy with him. Expressionless runs on either Thursday or Friday at Newmarket and has another option at Yarmouth on Sunday, so look out for him. Wherever he goes, he is due to run well after having put up a huge performance first time out in a £100k race and has come forward from that as well.
It’s a exciting to have three yearling fillies in the yard, being broken in and pre trained at the moment. They are all well bred nice types and it always gives any yard a nice boost to have youngsters to look forward to.
There are still shares available in Confederation through our syndicate Catch Us If You Can Racing and there are still shares available in the yearling fillies through myself. Get in contact and we will happily help and welcome you into our yard. We also still have empty stables to fill and are always looking for new horses to join us. Get in touch.
Our team is working hard on all the catalogues for the up coming sales season, so do get in touch with your orders..
Today we say our final goodbye to Her Majesty The Queen. What a wonderful servant she has been and we finish the horses early this morning to go and celebrate her life and pay our respects.
It’s the famous Cambridgeshire race meeting at HQ this week and racing starts here on Thursday and finishes on Saturday. If you are in town for racing, feel free to get in contact and come and visit the yard. Our staff and horses will only be too happy to see you.
I close today with a lovely thought; “the same boiling water that softens the potato hardens the egg. It’s about what you made of, not the circumstances.”
Until next week, stay updated daily following our social media.
