Good Monday Morning

I came across this among reading things last week and thought it’s a lovely thought to start a Monday and start the week; “As you rise, many people will disapprove, rise anyway!”

What a great Monday morning after a phenomenal Arc. Alpanista was just brilliant and “The Sniper” Luke Morris was super cool and confident. Sir Mark Prescott is a master trainer and even though he has won the Arc with Alpanista, I don’t think enough can be said of what a super training performance this has been. Mastered to the T, everything went militarily right and for those who can see his string at HQ, you would know this is how the yard works.. militarily precision. Just brilliant, well done to them and Sir Mark Prescott. Lanwades Stud and the owner Ms Kirsten Rausing, 40 years of putting this pedigree together and a family of stars, well done. It was vital that a owner/breeder, sadly a fading breed in racing, pulled this off. If only more stories like this were around. Annabelle Alpanista’s lass, I see them most mornings calmly going about their business, you would never know its them unless someone showed you. Annabel has traveled and been everywhere with this filly and you could hear her confidence on the telly before the race. She just knew her mate was spot on. Was a great job she has done as she looks after her every day and also rides her, it’s that love and care that most people don’t ever see.. well done. Just brilliant, words don’t describe how great this win was for everyone in racing. Thank You team Alpanista.

I feel I need to have my 2c on the Rossa Ryan/Christophe Soumillion incident or accident to be fair. It was nasty to watch and thankfully Rossa is ok. I think enough has been said about the ban etc, but from my point of view, being a ex airline pilot, I think, what would the airline do if you acted in this manor at work or even on the way to work or leaving work or what would I do if one of my riders did that to another rider? You would immediately be stood down and your medical revoked. You should not be allowed to carry out any duties until being assessed. I’m surprised Christophe was allowed to continue riding. Forget the further consequences for him, but, the immediate consequences should’ve been-stood down until further notice and medical assessment for the safely of everyone including himself. The insurance companies would have a field day should anything happen, even if it weren’t his fault from here on, just by having him ride without any further investigation. I hope he gets help and can continue to be the great jockey the is. We all make mistakes but this need further investigation.

We have four of our 5 horses that can race, running this week, so it’s busy for us. Expressionless runs tomorrow (Tuesday) at Brighton and he should run really well. I’m hoping he wins so that he can go for a winter holiday. Moliwood (providing it stays dry) gets thrown in the deep end, he runs in the Cesarawitch at HQ Newmarket, which is a huge achievement for us in our first season to have a runner in such a prestigious race, especially with only 5 horses that can race. He is doing well and we hope for a dry week and good performance but in such a big field, mainly a safe trip around. Mighty Mind runs on Saturday, he has come out of his last run well and he goes back to Chelmsford where he won and his best form is. On the same night, Mr Fayez comes back from his rest and steps out for his start to a busy autumn / winter.

Our syndicate Catch Us If You Can Racing has added an exciting yearling filly Empress Lulu who is by Muharaar out of Celestial Empire by Empire Maker. This is a fashionable family and already a half sister to a Gr2 performer with Wesley Ward in the USA. She is on a leased / subscription share deal for 24 months at £75 all in per month.
Confederation our first syndicate horse is on track for his winter campaign and we are really happy with him. He has done so well since joining us. We still have shares available at £500 per 2.5% and £60 per month all in fee. He is really a horse to get involved with and have some fun this winter. Get in touch today and join us.

Quest Thoroughbreds has two lovely fillies with us now, both by Guineas winners and both out of Derby (Irish/French) winning female lines. You can’t dream of pedigrees like this. We had our pedigree expert, carefully select them and already Hernando who he said strengthens the one female line, came out as the dam sire of the Arc winner Alpanista. These are high class fillies at serious value for money if you look at the price of horses now days. Don’t miss out, get in touch and get involved.

This week is the start of yearling sales season at Tattersalls, we will be at all the sales, get in touch and get involved. We are a vibrant exciting and open young yard in the UK and we love having our clients visit us and their horses. Come and join the fun.

To close today blog, a thought and reminder; “You were born to win, but to be a winner, you must plan to win, prepare to win and expect to win!”

Until next week, stay updated daily, following our social media.
