Good Monday Morning

Dolly Parton starts todays blog with this wonderful quote; “the way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you’ve gotta put up with the rain!”

That’s certainly how this year has been. Starting a business, a new life and setting up in a new country is really challenging and there’s lots of rain but we’ve seen lots of rainbows and sunshine. It’s been a tough year, but there’s been lots of small victories that have been extremely rewarding and the future is exciting for us as we continue to grow and build our yard in the UK.

We had 2 runners last week out of 3 possible horses who can race at the moment and BOTH earned prize money and ran fantastically well. Confederation ran 5th in a strong and competitive 0-85 handicap at Kempton and Silver Sword ran 2nd in a strong Novice at Lingfield with some horses in there costing 50 times what he cost at the sales. Both runners were greys as well. Let me start with our first syndicate horse we started, Confederation for Catch Us If You Can Racing, he was well ridden by Josephine Gordon and hit the front momentarily and looked a winner but just got run out of it late. We expected him to run like this as he hadn’t run for a long time. The syndicate members on course had a fabulous time and we had around 20 people cheering him on and taking photos of him. It was also great to see our colours upsides Godolphin, the worlds racing super power, these are the little victories that keep you motivated and excited. Our racing manager Andrew, has done a great job trying to accommodate everyone and make it the peoples syndicate and so far much fun has been had and the feedback is fantastic. We are really happy with that, and if you’ve ever wanted to get involved in ownership and fun, get in touch with Catch Us If You Can Racing. Silver Sword owned by Kirsten Dixon, ran really well to finish 2nd as I’ve said above. Also really well ridden by Darragh Keenan who learned a lot about him around Lingfield. This was particularly rewarding as he has been a challenge from day 1 and the team have worked really hard on him to get him to show his true ability. He is going forward now and ran a blinder. There’s so much to look forward to with this horse next year and even the year after, will be a lot fun. Both horses took their races well and will be running again in a few week, all being good.

This brings me to the Tattersalls December Sale which is oddly on the 21st of November. This is a GREAT sale for value. We purchased Silver Sword there for £10k and he is worth way more than that now. Our Bloodstock team will be hard at work to find you the value and we need your support. Get in contact and get involved BEFORE the sale. We are ready to accommodate your ownership needs, whether it be a small share in a syndicate, or a partnership with a bigger share, or sole ownership. The catalogue is really strong again, so join the fun and race with us. Our team go out of their way to make your racing experience a fantastic one and we love hosting our owners every day of the week!

Our other syndicate Quest Thoroughbreds, has only a few shares left in a lovely Magna Grecia filly, who is going really well and forward with a lovely temperament and action. Besides being by a Guineas winner, she is out of a Irish Derby winner producing family, and you don’t want to miss out on this opportunity. Get in touch and you could have a really smart filly next year. I posted a video of our pony Bee leading Maggie around and it has so far had over 55k views on Tiktok.

Mr Fayez runs at Chelmsford on Thursday and he has the sniper Luke Morris booked to ride him. He’s been doing well and hope he can regain his form from earlier in the year where he was so consistent. He has really done the yard proud this year and he needs a few soldiers to keep the flag flying with him this winter, which brings me to the final paragraph of todays blog…

Our yard needs a few horses in training to run during the winter to keep it all going and we could also do with a few jumpers as we have a dual license and great facilities in Newmarket for both codes. While we are building up trying to get yearlings for next year, we just really need horses in training and have space for more horses. Our team is ready to welcome you and your horses.

To close today; “Don’t let someone dim your light, simply because it’s shining in their eyes.. keep shining!”
