Good Monday Morning

Today is lucky for some 7/11…I saw this earlier in the week and thought it was a good way to start the week.. and then moon said to me - “My Darling, you do not have to be whole in order to shine!”

The Breeders Cup was a fantastic race meeting with the Americans dominating the Dirt and the Europeans dominating the Turf. It was good to see most of the races were run at true paces and that reflects in the results where 99% of the races were won by the best horses in my opinion, without too many hard luck stories. One of my favourite parts of the Breeders Cup is actually the week building up to the racing itself, and the coverage was top class again, especially with Matt Chapman getting some really good interviews and footage. Flightline was as expected, a complete freak and champion. It was however, Cody’s Wish who was my favourite race and winner. Godolphin do some amazing work behind the scenes for people and of course on the racetrack, and this was a combination of the two. If you haven’t seen it, go and YouTube Cody’s Wish! Adian O’Brien and Charlie Appleby dominated all the turf races and it just gave a little insight into what we are racing against here in England. That was the world championships so to speak and they dominated and here we are in England racing against them with our 5k and 10k horses. It’s quite something. On a personal note for the yard, Persian Force ran a cracking fourth which was the form of Confederation who we will be racing shortly, so it’s mind blowing to be involved and to dream that we could have a Breeders Cup runner in the future if we get the support and a few more horses in the UK. All in all, a great weekend!

Talking about Confederation and our new syndicate Catch Us If You Can Racing, will be stepping out Confederation in the syndicate‘s brand new colours this week at either Kempton or Wolverhampton and there are ONLY 3 shares left, so don’t miss out and snap those up. The syndicate is great fun and Confederation look’s like he is going to be a lot of fun as well.
The same syndicate has a yearling filly, Empress Lulu, who is by Muharaar out of Celestial Empire which makes Lulu a half sister to a Breeders Cup runner Star Empire and there are also some subscription/lease shares available in her. I shared a few fermented grapes with her breeder over dinner on Saturday night, and if Lulu is any bit as tough as her breeder, we have a lot of fun and excitement ahead!

This week we have Silver Sword in to run at Kempton on Wednesday which is our preferred race but he may be balloted out there. We have backed up at Lingfield for him in case this happens but hope he goes to Kempton and he should run well. He is in a good place. Confederation will run at either Kempton on Wednesday or Wolverhampton on Saturday and we will decide that later this morning. He is also doing really well and we hope to get the syndicate off to a good start but we are still learning about him every day.

Moliwood and Expressionless are enjoying a well deserved break and resting until the new year. They both did us really proud and took us to Future Champions Day, Tattersalls Sommerville Sales Race Day, The Shergar Cup, The Mallard on St Ledger Day and The Cesarawitch. Both horses are in for a good year next year for us and even though we really need runners to keep building, we always do what is right by the horse and they both really deserve their holidays. Thank You Moliwood and Expressionless for a great season with you both and I must thank the owners, The Sarkar Family for always doing what’s best for their horses as well. It’s so nice to train for people in the UK, everyone really loves their horses.

On that note, our open door policy with having owners visit whenever they are in town has proved really popular and kept us really busy, but that’s what the racing journey is all about. People love their horses and we love seeing happy owners and horses and it makes the ups and downs of racing easier with a lot of support around. The horses get loads of extra polos and carrots and it’s been great so far. Join the yard, you’ll enjoy the fun!

Our other syndicate Quest Thoroughbreds, has a lovely Magna Grecia filly out of a Irish Derby (Grey Swallow) winning female line with shares still available in her. She is really nice, forward, broken in and trotting and will start cantering later this week. She moves well and handles everything so professionally and I would highly recommend getting involved in her. Coolmore are buying the Magna Grecia’s, SO SHOULD YOU THEN!

We aren’t far off the December Sale at Tattersalls, which randomly comes in November and we hope to secure 2/3 yearling colts for the future there as well, so get in touch with your pre order and our fantastic Bloodstock and pedigree team will get to work for you!

We also still have some space for horses in training and would love to get 2/3 more to keep us racing through the winter. Give us a chance and get in touch.

To close today; “Never lose the sparkle in your eye, the fire in your belly and the steel in your character!”
