Blog Twenty-Seven - Monday 05/09/2022
Good Monday Morning
As always, a little motivation to open… “today is the beginning of anything you want!”
We start this week with the initial announcement right here in our blog, of the launch of our exciting, vibrant, open and transparent new racing syndicate, focused on giving you the most exciting and enjoyable experience owning a racehorse .. today we launch “Catch Us If You Can Racing” .. I will be posting more pictures and sending links to the social media platforms for Catch Us If You Can Racing. We are BHA approved and registered and all set up for this exciting development. Myself and Andrew O’Connor have been working on this for a few months now and we will be running the club together to make sure our partners enjoy a hands on and transparent experience. Andrew will be managing the syndicate while I train the horses and we will both be available for all share holders. We have some innovative and exciting ideas and have already purchased our first horse, Confederation, to be syndicated, which will be aimed at the valuable winter series bonuses and ready to run in October/November. Shares are now available at £500 per 2.5% with a monthly all-inclusive training fee of £60. Confederation is unbeaten as a Gelding and looks an exciting horse to launch Catch Us If You Can Racing. Get in touch with myself or Andrew now and don’t miss out on this great opportunity. We plan to work hard to keep everyone happy and do as well as we can to keep owners coming back and buying more horses and growing with us as a yard and syndicate. We will be attending all the sales and keep working on innovative ideas to make your racing experience a winning one!
This week is a big week on the racing front for us. We have Moliwood entered in our first Group race in the UK. He is entered in the Gr2 Doncaster Cup and if the rain stays away, he may well go there. We also have Moliwood entered in the Mallard Handicap at Doncaster on the same day, as this was always his next start and ground depending, he could line up there as well. They are two exciting options to have and we are really happy with how the horse has come along. Mighty Mind is also doing well and could head to Chelmsford on Saturday evening. He is doing well and seems to have improved a little more since winning last time out. Expressionless and Silver Sword are both coming along nicely and both will be huge runners next time they run. We are really happy with them. Mr Fayez has completely calmed right down since his break and is on track for his intended run at Brighton on 13th October. Alpine Springs is slowly coming back from a break and doing light work at the yard. Confederation arrived late last week, so we gave him a few days to settle in and he gets busy from today. Overall, our horses are in a good place and we are excited about the future.
We are opening our doors for The Henry Cecil Open Day at Newmarket on 18th September. We would love you to join us and come and meet the horses and team during the day.
It is with great sadness that we heard of the passing of Jack de Bromhead. He was only 13 years old and tragically killed in a pony race accident on Saturday. I cannot begin to imagine the pain and trauma the family is going through. RIP Jack. Our whole team sends our most sincere condolences to the whole de Bromhead family and yard. Our whole team was devastated and there was a somber mood on Sunday morning while we all tried to get on with things, with heavy hearts.
As I was writing this, the Guineas winner Corebues sadly and fatally broke down in a Gr1 in France. A heartfelt condolences to team Godolphin and thankfully William Buick seems ok. It’s never nice to see any horse break down, let alone a Guineas winner.
This brings me to a Monday moment.. take a minute today to phone someone you haven’t heard from in a while and give your children or friends a few minutes longer or a bigger hug and go and give your pets an extra bit of attention and a treat. Why not…life is so fragile and short. Appreciate the people and animals around you that make life worth living.
Tomorrow we will be attending the Tattersalls Somerville Sale, where we purchased Expressionless for £5000, who looks like he could be a group horse next year, having already running a blinder in the £100k Sales first time out, finishing a flying 6 lengths off. Our team will be flat out working behind the scenes to find more value and our syndicate will also be looking to expand, depending on the initial reaction to our launch. Get in touch. We promise to find you quality at value prices.
It would be a sin for me not to mention Flightline.. besides a great name, wow, what a racehorse. He looks the real dirt champion. The Breeders Cup is now as always on our minds, and it’s already mouth watering. Baaeed is the turf champion and I’m secretly hoping he shows his class and goes for the Arc. I think he will win by a good distance regardless of the ground, considering he won in bottomless ground on Champions Day at Ascot last year… however, what a time to be alive to see horses like this, especially being Newmarket based and seeing Baaeed daily.
A final reminder; We are going to launch Catch Us If You Can Racing today on all social media platforms and be selling shares in Confederation TODAY.. get in touch, don’t miss out and join us.
I close today with this thought.. “may love be what you remember most!”
